Book You Should Read!!!!!

I am currently reading Give Them Grace: Dazzling Your Kids With the Love of Jesus.
I normally would not recommend a book before finishing it BUT with this book I will make an exception :) The author is Elyse Fitzpatrick who you may remember from Idols of the Heart and an article on teaching our girls to love Christ more than a boyfriend in RC's magazine.
I found myself posting clip after clip on my facebook so you can go there and check it out.  You can also read the forward and first couple of chapters on Amazon.

What I am Learning from Parenting

It may be just me but the longer I strive to teach my kids to walk in the way of the Lord the more I see how often I fail to do that myself.  The lesson my kids learn most from me would have to be “this is what we are supposed to do but this what sin leads us to do instead”.   Raising children continually shows me my need for a Savior. I am pointed back to the Cross several times a day. Not only in pointing them to the Cross for forgiveness and grace but to find forgiveness and grace for myself. In teaching them what it looks like to be a follower of Christ I see where I am lacking. The Lord uses EVERY conversation that we have about their sin as an opportunity to show me mine.  I show them scripture and teach them the truth of the Word of God knowing that only He can produce the miracle of salvation and sanctification.
