Table Talk

There is an article in this months issue of Table Talk that caught my eye. It is by Elyse Fitzpatrick the author of Idols of the Heart (available in the church library for my fellow CFBC members). It is addressing the propensity of young girls to idolize relationships with young men. Here is a quote: "Our young women need to be dazzled by the beauty of their Redeemer King. They need to hear His story, His beauty, His love, His excellencies over and over again so that the images they are tempted to worship will pale in comparison". She goes on to talk about the need of parents that are willing to confess their sin openly to set a comfortable environment for their daughters to feel free to share their own struggles and temptations. She talks about us soaking our daughters hearts in the gospel truth of the great One who gave His life for her that she might be free to worship Him and rest in His welcoming love........Many amens came from my heart while reading this small but powerful article.
I have only read one book by her and it was sound. I didn't look at everything on her blog but here is the link
